My General area of research is creating animation and music that is original or collaborative in nature.
I am currently working a project that is based on a true historical narrative that occurred in the 1850’s in Toronto.
My work is based within the narrative of folk culture and how music, art and story change through direct interaction of people, places and time.
Collaboration is within the very nature of my work, whether it is literary, music or visual, I am always looking to others to help shape a new project.
Here is a small clip of a performance I did in Ontario at the Foster Memorial music series, where I was able to use technology from my grant to project my animation film with my live performance of song I arranged based on a traditional Cajun Creole folk song. The film was inspired by the Crawfish farms that are common in Southwestern Louisiana where I have done extensive on location research.
